Michele Bravi: “The presence of the public is the greatest gift”

At the Arcimboldi Theater in Milan, Michele Bravi concludes the tour that has accompanied him in the last two months in Italian clubs, to give voice to the last chapter of The Geography of the Dark, the record that showed him the way to move in the darkness that had overwhelmed him after the 2018 accident and return to singing. Intimate songs, the story of pain, which is still there but has found the space to position itself, leaving it time to find a way back. A work started a year ago, with the desire to play an emotional record between analog and digital, which comes to life on a stage inhabited only by instruments, next to a screen on which images flow and from which he appears, when the first ones arrive. And if he still doesn’t smile in Instagram stories, he smiles on stage, in his dimension. The public is waiting for him, applauding him, listening to him. The same audience who hoped to see him in the cast of Sanremo and was heard. Flower winter is the title of the song that Michele will sing at the Ariston from 1 to 6 February. Written by Bravi himself with Cheope and Raige on a melody by Federica Abbate, Katoo and again Michele, it will talk about humanity, empathy and sharing. A love song born from the need to tell the possibility of hearing it. “When you love there are no seasons, no races, no broken breath. Time expands, stretches, stretches like a rubber band. Those who love have the gift of living the path of an existence more slowly and absorb time as an opportunity to live inside the details“, commented.

It will be his second time at the Festival, after participating in 2017 with The diary of errors that with Keep the kiss, fills every silence in the hall in the live. It is on these songs that the applause explodes. With the desire to feel united with an artist who has made empathy his style. There are many guests who are friends in the hall, the theater is sold out and at the end of the show stands up, in a standing ovation that makes the applause last for a long time for the artist who has finally returned to live the stage and who thanks for the presence, not taken for granted, of all those people. “We have not been able to do our job for two years and knowing that the public is still there is a beautiful message to restart. Today is my birthday and you are the greatest gift. And it’s nice to play in Milan, where I now live. It’s been three years since my last time. This show was born from a record I released in January. It was a professional but above all human path where I learned that in the dark you can go through it. I imagined taking him to the stage, but only now it happens. I worked with a technical team among the first in Italy. It was a meeting of important souls. I wanted there to be an experience in pain. Everyone has a dark history. I hope this show gives a compass to cross it ».

Two acts on the show. The first is a story between words written by Andrea Bajani «One of the greatest writers in Italy» and songs in the dark. The second act instead a journey through those of the past. It opens with the song that gives the album its title, the voice of a child, the screen from which Michele comes out. You can see the attention to every detail from the first song. It is a journey into pain, which starts from the story of that child who did not want to be separated from his travel companion, so much like him. It is the story of the warmth of the hands of others who hold each other to welcome him, that pain. It is the story of how to take care of those you love, of those who are alone. Michele interprets, sings, moves in expressive dances, talks about darkness, enters it, shows fear in the head, when there is nothing left inside, with a screen on which images pass by with which he duets, reciting, but also singing (such as when it appears Federica Abbate in One second earlier The Chiara Galiazzo in All poems are about love. Colleagues, but above all friends who were close to him in that darkness). There is the story of so many broken pieces that can come together and it is not really the story of a child but of a man. It’s his. Bravi sings a record that was difficult to bring live, but in the theater song form and finds its perfect expression.
