The Michelin Guide chose a total of 123 properties in the first selection of best hotels in the UK and Ireland . The results were revealed on Tuesday (1st) and divided the projects into three categories: 14 with three keys, which point to hotels whose stay is “extraordinary”; 37 with two keys, which guarantee an “exceptional” stay; and 72 with a key, which offer a “very special” stay.
The key system is similar to the stars given to restaurants. Five main criteria are followed when evaluating hotels: excellence in architecture and interior design; quality and consistency of service; personality and general character; cost-benefit; and a significant contribution to the neighborhood.
Of the 123 hotels on the list, 43 are in London. Hotels in English cities such as Bath, Bristol and Windermere also made the list. Edinburgh, in Scotland, and Dublin, in Ireland, are also capitals with representatives.
