O Michelin Guide announced this Monday (8) its newest selection of establishments, this time not restaurants, but rather best hotels in France .
The unprecedented list covers 189 hotels of the European country. Instead of stars, they are distributed in one to three keys assigned by the guide's anonymous inspectors after four years of visits and stays.
The Michelin Guide's hotel guide in France includes 24 hotels with three keys , 38 with two keys It is 127 with a key . According to the guide, a key means a special stay; two indicate an exceptional stay and three represent an extraordinary stay.
To receive keys, hotels must meet the following criteria:
- Being a destination in itself: the hotel contributes to the local experience;
- Have excellence in architecture and interior design;
- Quality and regularity of service, comfort and maintenance;
- Uniqueness that reflects the personality of the establishment, its unique character;
- Consistency between the quality of the experience and the price paid.
Hotels with three Michelin keys

Of the 24 hotels awarded three Michelin keys, nine of them are in Paris. Are they: Ritz Paris, Plaza Athénée, Four Seasons George V, Cheval Blanc Paris, La Réserve Paris, Villeroy, Saint James Paris, Le Bristol Paris and the Le Meurice .
Courchevel , a luxury ski resort in the French Alps that sits in the world's largest interconnected ski area, also has highlights. The hotels included in the list of three Michelin keys Cheval Blanc Courchevel and the Le K2 Palace both in the village of Courchevel 1850.

The region of Provence It has other hotels certified by the Michelin Guide. Examples are the Château de la Gaude with two keys, and the Les Lodges Sainte-Victoire with a key, both in Aix-en-Provence, one of the most charming destinations in the region.
