The new memory is intended for use in driver assistance systems (ADAS), including adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning and blind spot detection. The high performance and energy efficiency of Micron’s LPDDR5 is said to “keep up with the growing bandwidth demands of next-generation automotive systems.”

Micron’s LPDDR5 memory is guaranteed to operate in extreme temperature ranges and meet automotive reliability standards such as the Automotive Electronics Council-Q100 and International Automotive Task Force 16949.
