Regular Microsoft applications are also adapting to the new interface. On June 24, Microsoft officially announced new designs for the Photos, Notepad, and Paint applications in Windows 11. But that doesn’t stop there.

The company has already translated applications such as Calculator and PowerToys into a new design concept. These are some of the most popular Microsoft Windows applications.

The new calculator design is based on the latest Fluent Design and WinUI guidelines such as rounded corners and transparency. A new settings page will also appear, where additional options will be presented.

The PowerToys suite of utilities originally debuted in Windows 95 and then reborn in Windows 10. PowerToys also has an update to make the application look more like Windows 11.

As a Microsoft spokesman noted, the company is not going to use multiple UX design systems at the same time, since applications are becoming almost impossible to test and maintain. Instead, the plan is to implement “the Windows 11 style as it is much more adaptable and flexible.”
