Microsoft has again changed its mind about one aspect of Windows 11. This time it is about the exclusivity of DirectStorage technology.
If just a month ago the company said that this technology would be available only for Windows 11, now Microsoft says that DirectStorage will still appear on Windows 10.
Microsoft is committed to ensuring that game developers can reach as many gamers as possible by implementing the new API. Thus, games based on the DirectStorage SDK will be compatible with Windows 10 version 1909 and above.
That way, Windows 10 users will also be able to experience the delights of the technology originally created for the Xbox Series consoles. Recall that DirectStorage is a technology to accelerate downloads in games by realizing the capabilities of ultra-fast SSDs with PCIe 4.0 interface.
