Microsoft Expands Android Testing Program In Windows 11

This week, Microsoft expanded the Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) testing program, which is introduced with the Windows 11 operating system, and allows you to run Android applications on your computer. Previously, this feature was only available to Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel, but is now available to Insiders in the Dev Channel.

Since Windows Subsystem for Android is currently in its early stages of testing, there are only 50 Android apps available to users that they can download to their computer from the Amazon Appstore. At least for now, Amazon is the main source of mobile apps for Windows 11 PCs, but it is possible that in the future there will be support for other platforms involved in distributing digital content for Android devices.

It is also expected that more applications will be available for users to test in the coming months. However, as we already reported, a free APK installer has appeared in the Windows app store.

The Windows Subsystem for Android in Windows 11 does not support running Android applications that require Google Mobile Services to run.
