Microsoft forcibly updates users to the latest Windows 10, you can’t skip the update

The Windows 10 May 2021 Update, also known by the 21H1 index, has been around for two months now – Microsoft called it stable (safe) and, starting in late June, is moving to force users to update the outdated version of Windows 10 to version 21H1. This was reported by the Windows Latest edition.

A forced upgrade to Windows 10 version 21H1 will affect people who are still using build 2004, introduced in May 2020. The reason is that in the near future, support for this version of the system will end (in December 2021) – this is standard practice for Microsoft, the company begins to send forced updates to users of outdated versions of Windows 10 six months before the end of support.

  • To this topic: Windows 10 takes longer to load and apps open more slowly with each update

Windows 10 version 21H1 is based on the 20H2 update, so the update will be quick and easy – most users will probably not even notice it. Also earlier, Microsoft made the 21H1 update fully available to all users – you can install it manually by checking the availability in the Windows settings.
