Microsoft has begun rolling out a Windows 10 update that automatically and permanently removes Adobe Flash Player from the system.

Windows 10 update KB4577586 is available through Windows Update and is listed as optional, but is actually downloaded automatically when you click the Check for updates button.
Microsoft back in October released a Windows 10 update that removes the Adobe Flash Player. However, then the update was entirely voluntary, it had to be manually installed from the Microsoft Update Catalog.
The update is rolling out in stages and should be available to all users in the coming weeks.
The Adobe Flash Player has been part of the Windows system for over a decade. Adobe declared the technology obsolete back in 2017 and announced its decision to end support for Flash Player in December 2020. On January 12, 2021, Adobe began blocking Flash content from playing in Flash Player so that users can no longer access it.
