Microsoft is forcing PCs to Windows 11 21H2 to be updated for the right experience

Two days ago, on January 26, Microsoft employees announced in their official blog that the giant of the digital world began to forcibly update the computers of users who are still working on the version of the Windows 11 21H2 operating system. In the blog, experts noted that the PC data system will be automatically updated to the current build – 22H2. Moreover, first, the update to the latest version of the operating system will be received by those users who downloaded Windows 11 21H2 to their computer before everyone else and all this time refused to update to the current build. Accordingly, the company will gradually update computers in a forced format.

It is worth clarifying that the forced update of the operating system affects both ordinary home PCs and the corporate sector (we are talking about non-managed systems), and all versions of Windows 11, from Home to Pro, will be updated. The company said that this is necessary in order for the user to get the right experience from using the operating system, which since the 21H2 build has received a lot of updates and has become noticeably more stable. And although Microsoft has previously engaged in a forced update of obsolete versions of operating systems, it usually did this right before the end of support for an obsolete build. That’s just 21H2 will be supported until October 10, 2023, that is, there is still a lot of time ahead.

At the moment, the user can choose the appropriate date and time for installing the update, or go to the “Update Center” and start the download. Whether it is possible to somehow opt out of the update and continue to use a PC based on Windows 11 21H2 is not yet clear, but it is probably not necessary.
