Microsoft is testing an image editor in Edge. Can add notes before saving

Microsoft has begun testing a new feature in the Edge browser that allows users to edit images before saving them to the system. The basic editing tools were discovered by Reddit user Leopeva64-2 and include the ability to crop and adjust images, add captions, and filters. At the moment, a new feature has appeared in Edge Canary, but it is not available to everyone.

Users with Image Editing enabled will see the new option in the context menu when they right-click on an image or hover over it. In the latter case, a new ellipsis icon appears that displays a menu with the option to edit the image.

Windows users will surely find similarities with the editor that Microsoft has implemented in the Photos app. The interface looks similar, except for some minor changes. The four main tools (crop, adjust, filters and caption) are located on the top panel, while the image editing options are located on the bottom.

Edge users have so far had two options for modifying images: save and open in a third-party editor, or use the built-in web capture tool, which only supports marker drawing. But users often do not need a full-featured editor, as they usually just want to crop the image.
