At the end of last year, Microsoft announced the transition to annual updates of the Windows operating system. In other words, large-scale functional updates for current OS versions (Windows 10 and Windows 11) are now presented once a year.

However, the company yesterday released a major update to Windows 11 with several important innovations – without waiting for the annual update. In its release announcement, Microsoft also promised to make such updates more frequently. The company explained:
Over time, we will launch new Windows 11 features for end users more frequently in addition to the annual updates. We will use various update delivery mechanisms, including the Microsoft Store. Our goal is to continuously innovate, bringing you the best experience throughout the year.”
