For Android users, the most notable innovation is the long-awaited background blur feature during a video call. In other versions of Skype, this has been possible for a while. Microsoft specifically emphasized that users were asking for the feature.

For iOS, the developers have improved the share function, support for the dark theme and increased productivity.

In Skype 8.64, users have the ability to customize “reactions” – quick responses in the form of emoji. In Skype 8.68, users will be able to add more types of reactions. This feature is available for all major platforms including Windows, Linux, Android, iOS, iPadOS, and the web.

Also virtual cameras on macOS started working again, a bug with missing sound in voice messages was fixed.
