Microsoft removes Paint3D and 3D viewer from Windows 10

On March 10, Microsoft released Windows 10 Build 21332 without Paint3D and the 3D Viewer app. In addition, the 3D Objects folder is hidden by default.

The company notes that 3D Viewer and Paint 3D will no longer be presented with a clean install of the latest Insider Preview builds, but both applications will remain available in the Microsoft Store.

As a reminder, in 2017, Microsoft released the Windows 10 Creators Update, which introduced a number of applications focused on 3D modeling. The programs allowed you to create 3D objects and even control a 3D printer. Microsoft was confident that the new update would help unleash the creativity of every user.

The company even planned to replace the Paint app with Paint3D, leaving Paint available for download from the Store. Ultimately, however, the revolution was interrupted and it was Paint3D that ended up in the Microsoft Store.

Indeed, there was a time when the company thought that 3D graphics would have a huge future and that users would appreciate the benefits of 3D modeling. However, the main problem is that there is no easy way to do complex things like 3D objects.
