Microsoft announced a major update for Microsoft Teams at the annual Ignite 2021 conference.

Microsoft Teams introduces end-to-end encryption for one-to-one calls. It will become available to commercial customers in the first half of the year in test mode. In the future, it is planned to expand the option to scheduled calls and online meetings.
Another innovation is interactive webinars with up to 1000 participants. The update includes new opportunities for holding presentations, organizing registration for webinars, administering them, as well as generating reports on the results of the event. If you need to connect an even larger audience, you can switch to the broadcast mode “only for viewing”, which will cover up to 20,000 people.

The new PowerPoint Live option will provide the ability to deliver more effective presentations by making your notes, slides, chat, and attendee list available in a single window. Viewers will be able to set up an online conference: get acquainted with the content at their own pace and use the high-contrast mode.
Presenter mode will allow presenters to customize the display of video and content to the audience. New options coming soon:
- Standout, which shows a video of the speaker in front of the content
- Reporter, which shows content as an assistive visualization above the speaker’s shoulder
- Side-by-side, which shows the presenter video next to the content
Microsoft Teams and Dynamics 365 integration includes Teams collaboration capabilities in Dynamics 365 modules such as Sales, Marketing, Human Resources, Commerce, Field Service, and Customer Service. In particular, users will have access to improved digital sales tools in Dynamics 365 Sales, reporting of events in Microsoft Teams directly from Dynamics 365 Marketing, and more.
