Microsoft has begun to warn users of the Windows 10 operating system about the imminent end of the life cycle of its next version.

Starting May 11, 2021, technical support will end for Windows 10 version 1909 or the November 2019 Update, a major update that was released in November 2019. After that, Microsoft will stop releasing updates for this version of the OS, including security updates.

Users began to notice a notification in the notification area stating, “Your version of Windows 10 will soon be out of support.” Users are encouraged to upgrade to the more modern Windows 10 May 2020 Update (2004) or October 2020 Update (2H20).
In December 2020, Microsoft ended support for Windows 10 1903 and 1809, which were released in Spring 2019 and Fall 2018, respectively. In December, Microsoft began to forcibly update PCs from installed 1903 to version 1909. In May 2021, a similar automatic transition of version 1909 to 2004 – May 2020 update will begin.
