Microsoft will implement in its search engine the artificial intelligence underlying ChatGPT

The sensational project ChatGPT has led many to say that chat with artificial intelligence will bury traditional search engines. Some even claim that Google itself is concerned about the technology. At the same time, information appeared that Microsoft was interested in the development, which is preparing to launch a new version of its Bing search engine with artificial intelligence underlying ChatGPT. It is reported that this technology will be used to “respond to some search queries.”

There is nothing surprising. Microsoft has been investing in OpenAI for a long time, and the agreement, among other things, includes a clause to include some aspects of GPT in the Bing search engine. The old version of GPT is already being used to automatically suggest search terms as you type them. The software giant has already announced plans to integrate Dall-E 2 into the Image Creator tool, where you can generate images from a text description. The upcoming announcements will reveal more significant changes, according to a source familiar with Microsoft’s plans.

Responses to AI-enabled search queries can take the form of a full sentence, including the source of the information. This is different from Google’s Featured Snippet, which cites a source or provides a list of links that may be relevant to the query. However, Bing will continue to rely on proprietary technology for most search results, as GPT is not designed to provide real-time information all the time, as a search engine does. GPT can also help Bing find other keywords that users can enter to search for an answer to their query.

It is reported that the launch of an updated version of the Microsoft search engine may take place before the end of March. In this case, Bing can be positioned as one of the few (or even the only) ways to access GPT for free. It is already known that OpenAI plans to charge for the use of ChatGPT.
