Microsoft’s browser is finally able to view Microsoft Office files

Microsoft has released a new test version of the Microsoft Edge browser, in which enthusiasts discovered a couple of undocumented, but no less interesting innovations.

Microsoft Edge version 92 introduces integration with Officer Viewer and Windows Search in the developer channel.

A feature called Office Viewer allows you to view Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents directly in the browser. The feature is currently in early development and is available in the Windows 10 and macOS versions of Microsoft Edge. You can activate it in the browser settings in the “Downloads” section.

Integration of Windows Search with has just been found, but, apparently, does not work with current builds of Windows 10 and for its final activation you will have to wait for OS updates. As a result, users are expected to be able to launch taskbar searches, retrieving browsing history, recent tabs, bookmarks (favorites) and more from the browser.
