Microsoft’s Xbox Cloud Gaming service will add keyboard and mouse support

Flight Simulator was recently added to Microsoft’s Xbox Cloud Gaming service, allowing you to play the game on Xbox One, smartphones, tablets, and web browsers via the cloud. But unlike the PC version of the game, you can’t use your keyboard and mouse to control your plane. However, according to the head of Flight Simulator Jörg Neumann (Flight Simulator), the situation will soon change.

In a Q&A with developers, Neumann said Microsoft is working on adding support for the feature at the platform level, suggesting that most games on Xbox Cloud Gaming will eventually be able to use these inputs.

“So the platform team is working on it. I know I can’t give a date because it’s a platform team. I don’t know their date, but it will happen, he said. “I hope it will be done by June or so, but I can’t say when.”

Responding to The Verge, a Microsoft spokesperson confirmed that the company is working on the feature, but also declined to give a release date.

Keyboard and mouse support would be a welcome addition to Xbox Cloud Gaming for several reasons. First, it will allow PC and Mac owners to play games like Halo Infinite without buying a gamepad. Instead, they can use the peripherals they already have. Second, it would make it easier for Microsoft to access PC exclusives like Age of Empires IV.
