MicroStrategy bought another 21,550 BTC

MicroStrategy acquired an additional 21,550 BTC for $2.1 billion. This was announced by the company’s founder, Michael Saylor.

According to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the firm bought the coins at an average price of $98,783.

The return for the last quarter was 43.2%, for the year – 68.7%.

At the time of writing, MicroStrategy owns 423,650 BTC, acquired for $25.6 billion ($60,324 per coin). At the exchange rate at the time of writing, the company’s assets are estimated at ~$41.8 billion.

MSTR shares are trading at $381. Capitalization is $85.32 billion.

During 2024, MicroStrategy securities saw five times the price increase compared to Bitcoin – 650.2% versus 123.1%. The company’s growth rate has surpassed, among other things, the S&P 500 index and Nvidia.

During a presentation to the Microsoft board of directors, Saylor presented a Bitcoin strategy that should add $5 trillion to the company’s capitalization.
