A Palestinian who was wounded in the early hours of this morning by Israeli army bullets in the occupied West Bank has succumbed to his injuries, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced.
Ibrahim Uweidat, 20, was shot in the head in the Akabat Jaber refugee camp near the Palestinian city of Jericho, the ministry said, without elaborating on the circumstances of his death.
Two more Palestinians were shot when Israeli forces entered the camp overnight, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah party has declared a strike in Jericho today, according to the same source.
The incident took place at a time when tensions are running high between Palestinians and Israelis and incidents have broken out in both Israel and the Palestinian territories.
As of March 22, 14 people have been killed in anti-Israeli attacks. In retaliation, Israeli security forces have been allowed to do everything they can to “defeat terrorism” and have carried out numerous operations in the occupied West Bank.
A total of 25 Palestinians have been killed in the same period, including attackers.
