Midnights are fluttering today in Kiev, as the Ukrainians mourn the loss of at least 28 compatriots killed in Russian blows Monday night to Tuesday, in the deadliest wave of attacks this year by the Ukrainian capital. The Russian forces launched an attack with 440 unmanned aircraft and 32 missiles against the capital, according to Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski. Mayor Vitali Klitsko announced today that the death toll now amounted to 28, with the search and rescue operation in the ruins of an apartment building. Correspondent of the Reuters news agency saw two corpses move away from the ruins. Shocked by 21 -year -old Sofia Holovatenko, who left a few flowers on the spot, where there were also candles and children’s toys. “It is shocked, especially when it happens near your home,” he said.
