The woman, whose name has not been released, endured the labor pains for several days in the company of her relatives and “dozens of people from other countries”, until, at dawn on August 25, she had to be taken to the rushed to the General Hospital of Pabellón de Arteaga, in Aguascalientes, about 800 km from the closest point to the northern border of Mexico.
According to the authorities, the woman “had to descend urgently and with the help of federal immigration agents”.
“Hours later, he received a girl in his arms for whom he hopes to obtain, in the next few days, a birth certificate that certifies her as Mexican,” said the INM.
In addition to the birth certificate, authorities reported that a Permanent Resident Card is being provided for the mother, father and siblings.
The INM published a photograph showing the woman with the newborn, whose health status was not informed.
