Breakfast at Buckingham Palace might conjure up images of immaculate hosts, lavish surroundings and butlers waiting for your every whim, but Mike Tindall revealed the date is decidedly more casual.
Princess Anne’s son-in-law told his companions aboutI’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here that he slept in the palace and simply wore “jeans and a T-shirt” to breakfast. When actor Owen Warner asked him if he had visited the London building, he said: “Yes, I’ve been there.”
He added that he did not feel nervous about meeting Zara, his wife of 11 years, because he had met Princess Anne, patroness of Scottish Rugby, through the sport, and his cousins Prince William and Prince Harry were “big” fans of the sport and had met the team on several occasions. I’ve known more family than you would normally know of the woman you start dating,” he joked.
The news comes after Tindall spoke about the first meeting with his wife, with whom he shares three children Mia, eight, Lena, four, and Lucas, one, sharing the details of their first date: «The first real date, we are went out for lunch in the area. And it ended up being quite alcoholic. Then we realized we both liked being drunk. It was a good start,” he said.
The couple wed on July 30, 2011 at Edinburgh’s Canongate Kirk, just three months after the royal wedding of Zara’s cousin Prince William to then-Kate Middleton.
