Mikey Madison beats Bafta 2025 for best actress

The American actress Mikey Madison, 25, of “Anora”, won the BAFTA 2025 Best Actress This Sunday (16).

In Bafta, the actress competed with Karla Sofía Gascon, Demi Moore, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Saoirse Ronan and Cynthia Erivo. In all, the film competes in six categories, including the best movie.

In “Anora” Madison plays a sex worker who decides to marry impulsively with a young Russian. His dream of a happy ending is threatened when the groom’s family, son of a Russian oligarch, begins to investigate the young woman’s past.

In addition to the British Award, Mikey received the first Oscar nomination for the lead role in the feature and will be one of the competitors of Brazilian Fernanda Torres, 69, for the award.

The film starring her is directed by Sean Baker and also competes against “I’m still here” by Walter Salles, in the best Oscar 2025 film category.

Who is Mikey Madison?

Mikaela Madison Rosberg He was born on March 25, 1999 and grew up in Los Angeles, California, USA. Daughter of psychologists, she decided to pursue a career as a teenager, after her older sister marry a movie screenwriter.

She got her first prominent role in the series “Better Things”, in which she plays teenager Max Fox. The series was aired for five seasons, from 2016 to 2022.

In 2019, she played the role of Susan “Sadie” Atkins, one of the members of the Manson family in the movie “Once… in Hollywood” by Quentin Tarantino. He was then cast to “Panic 5” (2022) as Amber Freeman, who turns out to be one of the killers.

For his performance in “Anora”, Madison was nominated for best actress to Bafta, Critics Choice, Golden Globe and Oscar.
