Milan Ocean Week, a week for those who love the sea

Arriving at this time of the year, you feel it more than ever: how important is the sea? How good does it make us feel? How much do we need it? And how much of our economy, of our life depends on the sea? And so it is good to make a point, stop and weigh it, because, unfortunately, the risk is that of not caring enough for it, of not respecting it.

Thus was born the first edition of Milan Ocean Weekwhich takes place, in a widespread way within the city, from 8 (World Oceans Day) to 12 June.

Wanted by the One Ocean Foundation, sponsored by the Prefecture and the Municipality of Milan, by the Navy and created in collaboration with the Cultural partner Fondazione Riccardo Catella, with the support of Giorgio Armani, it is a week full of events, photographic exhibitions, screenings, musical performances, talks and educational workshops focused on knowledge of marine ecosystems and the precariousness of their health.

“It is important to promote the culture of responsibility”, the deputy prefect vicar was keen to explain Natalino Manno“So that each of us becomes a concrete protagonist, without delegating to others, of this necessary and inevitable process of ecological transition for sustainable growth, focusing on respect for the rules, on responsible behavior which, like many small drops of water, can affect the reduction of emissions, ocean pollution, global warming, to leave a cleaner planet for future generations “.

The program of the entire Milan Ocean Week can still be consulted HERE.
