He is back in the spotlight of Milano Fashion Week for the second time (the first was last February) and enchanted everyone with one digital fashion show, indeed with a mini arthouse film, created to present the new collection through the story of a virtual journey on the Milan-Tokyo route.
Why these two cities? Simple, they are the two poles that best represent Onitsuka Tiger today. Japan, the brand’s country of origin and Italy, where it was born Andrea Pompilio, their Creative Director since 2013.
And it is Tokyo, the Japanese metropolis par excellence, the fulcrum of this video-show. The city, loved by film and fashion creatives from all over the world, which, after months of restrictions, finally begins to shine and regain its energy. And Andrea, who for this Spring / Summer 2022 collection wanted to retrace the heritage of the brand, it starts right here and does it together with the director Hideto Hotta who, thanks to his vision, manages to show the modern, strong and contemporary identity of this place.

And here are the models that begin to parade, first between the check-in counters and then with the background of the Rainbow Brigde, the most famous suspension bridge in Japan. And then again, we see them walking in a street full of traffic and two seconds later through the deserted streets of the center. The shops have their shutters closed but everything keeps moving. A succession of scenes that portray the concepts of stillness and movement, perfect for representing what has been in recent years.
A virtual fashion journey through the history of the brand, celebrated this season also with the homage to the symbol that made it famous: the Tiger (among other things zodiac sign of the Chinese year 2022).
The motto, therefore, can only be: Tiger power!
A collection sport inspired that best represents the soul of the brand, able to tell, through the clothes, the concept of new luxury. That is, of that fashion capable of mixing casual and glamor, handcrafted details and high-performance technologies and that plays with multipurpose garments, which can be easily combined with each other.
The fil rouge of this new season? Tiger prints that conquer sweatshirts, tracksuits, shirts, beachwear and bags. But also high-top sneakers and sandals with a tank sole.
