Argentine presidential candidate Javier Milei spoke this Sunday (22), after the announcement of the first results of the vote.
In his speech, Milei called on other electoral forces to join the libertarians in the second round.
“Two thirds of Argentines voted for a change. They voted for an alternative to this government of criminals that wants to mortgage our future to remain in power. During these months, the campaign caused many of us who want change to find ourselves confronted, which is why I come to end this process of aggression and attacks and I am willing to make a clean slate, shuffle and rediscover the goal of putting an end to Kirchnerism.” , he said.
Milei celebrated the result of the first round and thanked her supporters.
“Two years ago, if you had told us that we would compete in a second round against Kirchnerism for the presidency of the nation, we would not have believed it.”
“From not having a party to being the first national force to contest Kirchnerism in just 2 years is a true historic achievement. Let us not forget the real magnitude of the historical event we are facing, that in 2 years we ended up competing for power in the most disastrous way that the history of modern democracy has given. Out of nowhere we had almost 40 national deputies and 8 senators,” he added.
The candidate also congratulated Jorge Macri, cousin of former president Mauricio Macri, who will run in the second round for mayor of Buenos Aires.
“I want you to be aware that today we face the most important elections in the last 100 years. A choice that will ask us if we want to continue with this model that Kirchnerism defends or if we want to embrace once again the ideas of freedom that made Argentina great in the 19th century and that all countries that embrace the ideas of freedom progress, while all those who follow populist ideas sink into misery”, he concluded.
