Milei replies to messages criticizing X blocking and calling Lula a dictator

Argentine President Javier Milei reposted messages on X on Monday (2) criticizing the platform’s blocking in Brazil and calling President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) a “dictator”.

One of the posts shared by Milei, made by the Argentine portal La Derecha Diario, brings an excerpt from the interview given by Lula to the radio MaisPB, on Friday (30), with the caption: “The dictator Lula da Silva justifies the total blockade of X”.

In the highlighted excerpt, the Brazilian president says that “each and every citizen, from any part of the world, who has an investment in Brazil is subject to the Brazilian Constitution and Brazilian laws. Therefore, if the Supreme Court has made a decision for a citizen to comply with certain things, either he complies or he will have to take another action.”

Another message reposted by Milei states that “the possibility of offending and feeling offended is a risk that MUST be taken in order for FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION to exist. Do not confuse offense with lies or slander… something that progressive socialism CANNOT DISTINGUISH.” The post also refers to Lula as a “dictator” and accuses him of not caring about ordinary people.

During a visit to the Tesla factory in Texas in April, the Argentine president had already offered businessman Elon Musk help in dealing with the legal issue involving X in Brazil.

THE CNN contacted the Planalto Palace to comment on the messages responded to by Milei, but has not yet received a response.
