Former US President Donald Trump will visit Buenos Aires to meet with Argentine President-elect Javier Milei. The information was confirmed in a statement this Thursday (23) after a call between them. The date has not yet been announced.
The Argentine ultra-libertarian won the second presidential round with around 56% of the votes against 44% for the current Economy Minister, Sergio Massa.
Milei, who takes office on December 10, promises a major change in economic policy, with measures that include closing the Central Bank, cutting spending and adopting the dollar as currency.
Trump’s office was contacted and has not yet commented.
US President Joe Biden also spoke with Milei to congratulate him on winning the country’s presidential election and discuss bilateral relations, the White House said on Wednesday.
