Miley Cyrus makes an emergency landing in Paraguay; lightning hit the plane

This March, Miley Cyrus has visited several Latin American countries (Argentina, Chile and Colombia, specifically), since she performed at music festivals such as Lollapalooza. Her next stop was Paraguay, where she was the headliner at the Festival Asunción, but bad weather caused a change in plans.

While trying to fly through a major storm, something unlikely happened: lightning struck the plane Miley and her team were traveling on and they were forced to make an emergency landing at the Guarani International Airport in Minga Guazú.

Apparently there were no injuries

To my fans and everyone who was concerned when they found out about my flight to Asunción. Our plane got caught in an unexpected huge storm and got hit by lightning. My team, band, friends and family who were traveling with me are doing well after an emergency landing. Unfortunately we couldn’t fly to Paraguay.

Via Twitter and Instagram, Miley informed her fans about the mishap and assured that all the people traveling with her are in good condition. In addition, it seems that the incident had no consequences beyond material losses. The singer also took the opportunity to apologize to her fans from Paraguay, since it was impossible for him to arrive on time for the concert.

Miley’s fans were not happy, as the singer has not performed in that country for ten years, so it was a unique opportunity to see her Show, but more importantly, no one was injured in the accident. Also, the bad weather in Paraguay has caused more problems for the festival and the first day had to be cancelled.

Miley’s next stop in South America is São Paulo, Brazil, where she will perform on March 26.
