Military aid to Ukraine, dominant theme at the G7 summit

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken today reiterated the urgency for the House of Representatives to pass the budget package for aid to Ukraine, a day after a triple Russian attack that killed 18 people in the city of Chernihiv, an attack which could not be prevented because the Ukrainian forces lack air defense means. “At this time it is urgent that all friends and supporters of Ukraine do their utmost to continue to provide Ukraine with everything it needs to defend itself against Russian aggression,” Anthony Blinken told reporters shortly after before his meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, Dmytro Kuleba. The two men are today participating in the meeting of foreign ministers of the Group of 7 (G7: USA, Canada, France, Britain, Germany, Japan, Italy) in Capri.
