Military forces removed from presidential palace in Bolivia after failed coup

The military forces that surrounded the presidential palace of Bolivia have left with the country’s president, Luis Arce making new appointments to the leadership of the armed forces after the “coup attempt”. The newly appointed military command ordered the soldiers who followed General Juan Jose Zuniga to the presidential palace to return to their bases, while a heavy police force was deployed in the center of the capital, La Paz. Bolivia’s Supreme Court denounced “an attack against democratic stability” in the country. The prosecutor’s office has announced that it will open a criminal investigation against General Zuniga as the head of the alleged “coup attempt” in Bolivia.
