Militiaman Yuren Cleiton Felix da Silva, known as Costelinha, was arrested by the civil police of Rio de Janeiro, late Thursday night (25). He was part of the militia commanded by Luis Antonio da Silva Braga, known as Zinho.
Yuren was wanted for the murder of former councilman Jerominho and a friend of his, in August 2022. He is also accused of the death of a military police officer, which occurred in 2021. In addition to the two homicides, the militia member is responsible for the crime of illegal possession of restricted use firearm.
In the action, the agents served three preventive arrest warrants that were open against him, who is identified as one of the main names in the hierarchy of the militia group he is part of.
The arrest took place in a bar in Campo Grande, in the west of the capital of Rio de Janeiro. The criminal was already being monitored by the police intelligence sector. The capture was done strategically to avoid clashes in the establishment, which was crowded.

Homicides
Costelinha is accused of the death of former councilor Jerônimo Guimarães Filho (Jerominho) and his friend MaurÃcio Raul Atallah, which occurred in August 2022, in Campo Grande.
He would have acted in partnership with Zinho and four other members of the group.
The prisoner is also responsible for the death of a PM who was assigned to the 8th Military Judicial Police Station – Specializing in Narcotics and Complex Crimes. The crime took place in 2021.
According to investigations, the police officer was murdered during an action that aimed to arrest former military police officers who were believed to be involved with Zinho’s militia.
Who is Zinho
LuÃs Antônio da Silva Braga, known as Zinho, was considered the most wanted militiaman in Rio de Janeiro. He — who had been on the run since 2018 — handed himself in to the Federal Police (PF) on December 24 last year.
He was already wanted for illegal possession of weapons, criminal organization and criminal association.
Zinho has been at the head of the militia that most dominates areas in the West Zone of Rio for around two years, after the death of his brother, Wellington da Silva Braga, known as Ecko.
