In 2016, Millie Bobby Brown she became famous playing telekinetics Eleven in Stranger Things, one of the most iconic Netflix series, thanks also to a trendy cut, the buzzcut, which became the character’s signature look. Over time, Eleven has grown her hair. But, thanks to some simulations / flashbacks, the show’s final season sees Eleven with her hair shaved off again. However, Millie herself didn’t cut them, because she had no intention of doing it.
How was the shaved head look created? And how was it possible to make it so realistic? Well, the hair designer of the series and TikTok gave us the answers. Sarah Hindsgaulwho worked on Stranger Things Since the first season, he has shared, in a series of recent Instagram posts, the secrets behind the fake buzzcut that they created for a thousand. According to Sarah, Millie Bobby Brown’s wig for Stranger Things 4 it took a very long process of making, with three people working to attach it to Millie’s head. Sarah interrupted the whole process by explaining that, in the first place, the team made sure to wrap the hair very snugly around Millie’s head, so that her wig didn’t look bulky or clunky. “We wet her hair and smoothed it with a gel to make it adhere to her head, arranging her hair in the best possible way,” she wrote.
“Her head was then wrapped and tightened in an elastic material and left to dry in the heat for 15 minutes.” Next, artist Rob Pickens sewed bits of silk over them to make the wrap look skin-like and not show the scalp through the hair. The whole thing seems to have taken about 30 minutes from start to finish and there were three different wigs with slightly varying hair lengths to simulate the whole process.
Many stars who have sported this cut who has never ceased to exert attraction on the screen, it is impossible not to mention them hair cult from Demi Moore in Private Jane, Sigourney Weaver in Alien, Natalie Portman in V for Vendetta, Kate Hudson in the movie Music And Britney Spears in 2019, in the documentary Britney Spears: Breaking Point, which tells one of the darkest periods of its existence, and finally Shira Haas in the series Unorthodox.
