Deputy Minister of Health Mina Gaga referred extensively to the NSS in her speech at the New Democracy conference. He added that the NSS needs an upgrade, because it was designed 40 years ago, when the needs and possibilities were completely different and, among other things, proposed changes in the Visa, Education, and Organization.

He referred to the government work and noted, among other things, the intangible prescription, the electronic appointments and certificates, the personal doctor, the contracts with providers “that offer quality services”. The certification in emergency medicine for all those appointed in IT, KARPA for all, specialties with evaluation and depending on the needs in the country, is promoted for implementation. He also referred to the organization, the digital file, concise and complete, the voluntary movements of doctors in the summer with the operation of regional hospitals, the <200 beds in departments and emergency (MDT), to ensure the cooperation of all specialties, the experience of doctors and quality services.

This is “a project that has not been done in the country since the establishment of the NSS”, said Ms. Gaga, adding that “it will offer the necessary security and satisfaction to patients, staff and all Greeks.”
