The Civil Police of Minas Gerais arrested a 32-year-old man who was wanted by Interpol for having tried to kill his own brother. The arrest took place last Tuesday (9) in Extrema (MG), a city located on the border with the state of São Paulo.

The arrest warrant against the individual – whose name has not been revealed – was issued by the Court of Alagoas, where the attempted murder took place.

According to the Minas Gerais police, the man was found in a hospital in the city with his wife, who was hospitalized.

“Our investigation work is always guided by collaboration, especially when it involves highly dangerous suspects. We are satisfied when we are able to provide the necessary response to maintain public safety,” highlighted delegate Fausto Manzieri.

The crime took place in December 2022. The prisoner allegedly tried to kill his own brother by shooting him six times and hitting him with one of the shots. According to investigations, the motive for the crime was a disagreement between the suspect and the victim’s wife.

In addition to the attempted murder of his brother, the suspect was part of a criminal organization. According to the police, he has a history in Alagoas for homicides and illegal possession of a firearm, and in Pernambuco for robbery, rape and kidnapping.
