Miniguide of the paradisiacal Caraíva, by Gabriel Gasparini, the “Gaspa Indica”

With coconut trees that guarantee a paradisiacal environment and delicious waters that bathe the south of the Bahian coast, caraiva has been an escape destination in the North East increasingly targeted.

Belongs to safe harbor and near Trancoso, on the Discovery Coast, the village reserves for its visitors inns beyond charming that carry the simplicity and power of this place.

In the same vein, the gastronomy, in which restaurants focus on local flavors and do well by presenting creations with the freshest in the region.

An ideal destination to rest and get in touch with nature, Caraíva was the most recent destination chosen by Gabriel Gasparini to relax and delight in the local flavors.

Name behind profile @gaspaindicawho has more than 210 thousand followers on Instagram, Gaspa is an entrepreneur, gastronomy enthusiast and partner at Sarjeta Bar, in Brooklin, São Paulo.

“I came back completely in love with Caraíva”, reveals the professional, who was in the village in October.

Next, Gaspa gives a summary of useful tips and what to see, do and where to eat in this paradisiacal piece of Bahia:

Useful tips: how to get there, when to go and what to bring

The most direct way to get to Caraíva is to land at Porto Seguro International Airport. From there, schedule a transfer to the village, where the route is about 74 kilometers.

Once close to Caraíva, we still have to take a small boat, such as a canoe, to cross the river, where the journey takes about five minutes.

The climate in Caraíva does not vary greatly throughout the year, but the ideal is to prioritize spring and summer.

The tip is to take a small suitcase with light clothes and just flip flops and flat sandals for your feet. The village is all sand, so nobody wears sneakers there.

The cell phone signal is a little complicated, where there are points with signal and many others without. It is a place to bet on the Wi-Fi of the inns and shops, which work well.

Where to stay

On my trip I bet on Pousada Villa Serena which is one of the best value for money options in the village.

In the center of the village, the inn has the unique differential of having access to both sides of the village, both on the river side and a few steps from the sea, which facilitates locomotion.

I consider the breakfast at the inn to be one of the most incredible in the region, where healthy and natural foods are part of the gluten-free, lactose-free and vegan menu.

If you are willing to spend more and insist on a swimming pool, bet on Pousada Vila do Mar 🇧🇷 It’s beautiful, it faces the sea and accepts day use.

In Caraíva, the ideal is to spend the minimum four full days to get a taste of this incredible village without rushing.

Daily rates can cost between R$500 and R$1,000 for the couple, where food, on average, costs R$200 per person with alcohol.
