Minimum wage in the State of SP has readjustment and is between R$ 1,284 and R$ 1,306

The Legislative Assembly of São Paulo approved, on Wednesday night (23), a readjustment of the state’s minimum wage by 10.3%, a percentage accumulated between the months of November 2020 and October 2021 for the Consumer Price Index ( IPC-Fipe).

As a result, the two ranges worked for specific functions by São Paulo rose to R$1,284 and R$1,306, above R$1,212 of the federal minimum wage.

“The intention of the State reflects the commitment to allow an increase in the income of workers, without prejudice to the preservation of the economic capacity of employers, which denotes an inexorably inclusive and social character of the norm, being of rigor, and in the support of the preservation of the human dignity, the continuity of the process of adjusting the content of the law”, says the justification of the text of the proposal.

The project was sent by the governor of São Paulo, João Doria (PSDB), after studies by the Secretariat for Economic Development. The values do not stand out in relation to the national minimum, as the document says.

“The measure remains inapplicable to workers who have other levels defined in federal law, in a collective bargaining agreement or agreement, state and municipal civil servants and apprenticeship contracts governed by Federal Law No. December 2000, due to the existence of specific legislation.”
