Miniseries about Benjamin Franklin arrives on streaming; know where to watch

The miniseries “Franklin about one of the most iconic names in the history of the United States arrives on AppleTV+ this Friday (12). The first three episodes are now available. There are eight episodes in total, which will be released weekly.

Based on the book “A Great Improvisation: Franklin, France, and the Birth of America” by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Stacy Schiff the title tells the story of one of the biggest bets of Benjamin Franklin's career.

By December 1776, he was famous worldwide for his electrical experiments, but his passion and power are tested – while the fate of American independence hangs in the balance – when he embarks on a secret mission to France.

At age 70, without any diplomatic training, Franklin convinced an absolute monarchy to support the experiment in American democracy. He overcame British spies, French informants, and hostile colleagues, all while engineering the Franco-American alliance of 1778 and the final peace with England of 1783.

The plot stars the Oscar winner michael douglas (“Wall Street – Power and Greed”) and has Noah Jupe (“A Quiet Place”), Thibault de Montalembert (“Dix pour cent”), Daniel Mays (“Line of Duty”) and more in the cast.
