Miniseries starring Natalie Portman, “The Woman in the Lake” arrives on streaming

Starring the Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman 43, and Emmy nominee Moses Ingram 30, the miniseries “The Woman in the Lake ” premiered on AppleTV+ this Friday (19). There are seven episodes in total, which will be released weekly.

In the plot, the trajectories of two women collide after the disappearance of a young woman in the city of Baltimore during the Thanksgiving holiday of 1966.

Maddie Schwartz is a Jewish housewife who seeks to shed a secret past and reinvent herself as an investigative journalist, and Cleo Johnson is a mother who experiences the fragile political situation of the black population while struggling to support her family.

The direction is by the Israeli filmmaker Alma Har’el known for her work in “The Price of Talent” (2019). In addition to Portman and Ingram, names such as Y’lan Noel (“Insecure”), Brett Gelman (“Fleabag”), Byron Bowers (“The Price of Talent”), Noah Jupe (“A Quiet Place“), Josiah cross (“Masters of the Air“), Mikey Madison (“Panic”) and Pruitt Taylor Vince (Murder One”) make up the cast of the production.
