Minister of Health: Next week the decisions for the personal doctor

The Ministry of Health is ready to issue next week the political decisions that will concern the personal doctor, said today the Minister of Health Thanos Plevris, speaking at the conference on Health organized by the “First Issue”.

“We will pay doctors an average of 60,000 euros a year. Depending on the number of registered people, we will buy hours, we will not pay the doctor without checking him.”

Initially, the registration of doctors will begin, as Th. Plevris said, and there will be incentives and disincentives for patients who will enter the program. “If the citizen does not have a personal doctor, he will pay more participation. For the citizens to embrace the institution, it is good for their health,” he said.

In fact, the Minister of Health said that the personal doctor will become the pillar to solve pathogens in both primary and secondary care, but also in the consumption of drugs.

“Today, whoever wants, writes. The medical associations themselves react with the personal doctor. The solutions will not be pleasant. At some point,” cutters “will fall”, said Th. Plevris.

Speaking about the claw back, he said that we have entered a vicious circle with the claw back and we want to eliminate it at some point as “it has become the elephant in the room”, as he characteristically stated. Touching it, everyone will be dissatisfied, he stressed and said that even if you increase the cost of the medicine, you will have to rationalize and control the consumption.

“The most expensive medicine will be taken by those who really need it,” said the Minister of Health, noting that the money for the pharmaceutical expenditure is specific. However, she admitted that the responsibility for the increased cost of the drug lies with the State, as it has not been able to see the real needs and make checks. However, he predicted that the implementation of the treatment protocols, the control of the prescription and the electronic file of the patient will be useful tools that will help the state to monitor and control the prescription in real time.

Until the procedures run, we will also go to firefighting measures, such as e.g. The recent amendment with a transfer from claw back to rebate, concluded Th. Plevris, who, however, blamed the pharmaceutical companies as they do not seem to cooperate as much as they should. “In the negotiations, I see a reluctance on the part of companies to help and bring the lowest price and consumption they have in other EU countries. Our country has the highest consumption of all companies – it is not the companies’ fault, it is our fault that we do not have structure in the protocols “, he noted.
