In order to seek partnerships and foreign investments, during the Credit Suisse event, Minister Bento Albuquerque spoke about the auctions in the Energy sector that took place in 2021 and the collection from the sale of Union assets.
“In partnership with the National Congress, we are following the journey that made possible the two largest oil and gas auctions in the world,” he said.
“We achieved historic revenue with the sale of Union oil, obtaining significant premiums and the value of R$ 25 billion by 2025”, he added.
Bento Albuquerque also mentioned Petrobras during his speech. According to him, the mixed capital company brings good investment potential due to the new focuses it is taking.
“We are also continuing with the divestments of Petrobras, which in addition to allowing the company to focus on the pre-salt layer, has contributed to the diversification of agents in natural gas and refining,” he said.
The Minister of Mines and Energy gave the opening speech of the event, through a recorded transmission, which lasted about 15 minutes.
Among the other topics explored, Albuquerque also mentioned the natural gas market and fossil fuel production expectations.
“We had the creation of an open and dynamic market for natural gas, whose production has already grown by around 19% in this three-year period, fostering investments and the generation of jobs and income”, he declared.
“The total collection, in government participation, is in the order of R$ 254 billion, the highest ever recorded. We will continue to work effectively in 2022 on planning and offering in the auctions of areas for oil and natural gas in the form of permanent offer”, he added.
