Faced with the 25% readjustment in the price of diesel, announced this Thursday (10) by Petrobras, the Jair Bolsonaro government intensified conversations with truck drivers and, despite the jump in the value of fuel at the pump, sees no risk of blockages on highways in the country. parents.
THE CNNInfrastructure Minister Tarcísio de Freitas said that “the leaders are realizing the seriousness of the situation and the effect of the war on prices”.
According to the minister’s assessment, since 2018, when the biggest strike in the history of the category took place, there has been what he calls “maturing” in the negotiations. Today, according to Tarcísio, there is no willingness on the part of truck drivers to stop the flow in Brazil.
They have opted, says the minister, for sectoral agreements to be able to transfer the increase in freight costs. In other words, the vehicles stay in the yards until compensation is obtained for the increase in the price of diesel.
This is what happened, for example, in the case of car and fuel transporters, who decided to stop the trucks at their bases and not make new trips from this Friday (11).
In a statement released this Thursday (10), they stated that the increase in fuels announced by Petrobras made freight unfeasible and that, until financial conditions are restored, the fleet will be stopped.
The Minister of Infrastructure also told the CNN see recognition of truck drivers in the actions of the government and Congress to minimize the effects of readjustments at pumps, citing the progress of the project in the Senate and in the Chamber that changes the rule of incidence of ICMS (Tax on the Circulation of Goods and Services) on fuels .
