The Ministry of the Interior refers to “false claims by the president of SYRIZA Alexis Tsipras regarding the number of temporary employees”, pointing out that “the real numbers torpedo the narrative of SYRIZA”.
Despite the fact that the issue of temporary government employees has been answered repeatedly and in the clearest way, SYRIZA insists on investing in opposition lies, slander and fake news, the ministry says in a statement and adds:
However, because the truth of the numbers is inexorable, the evolution of the number of temporary employees as obtained from the updated data of the Register of Employees of the Hellenic State is listed once again. (apografi.gov.gr)
According to them, SYRIZA employed more than 1,000 temporary employees during almost its entire administration, a number which in November 2018 exceeded 1,080. At the same time, the Government of the New Republic keeps this number marginally at 1,000.
At the same time, Mr. Tsipras reached the point of scandalously claiming that this number increases monthly by 50. A simple multiplication of this arbitrary number by the months of New Democracy’s rule is enough to demonstrate and destroy this huge lie.
Finally, SYRIZA insists on billing the Government for the number of temporary employees of the Local Government Organizations, so that the sum serves their narrative.
Mayors who were elected with the support of the official opposition party hire temporary employees and, according to SYRIZA, they should be charged to the Government, the announcement concludes.
