Ministry of Citizenship extends deadline for updating data in the Single Registry

The Ministry of Citizenship once again extended the deadline for reviewing data on families registered in the Cadastro Único. Citizens have another 30 days to update the information with the municipalities. The processes have been ongoing since February and cover eight million families.

Beneficiaries of the Auxílio Brasil Program (PAB) that are undergoing Cadastral Review would have until this Friday (14th) to update.

Families registered in the Cadastro Único must update the data every two years or whenever there is any change. Anyone summoned for data verification and review must attend a Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS) or a service center in the municipality’s Single Registry.

The cadastral update is essential to ensure the quality of the data and ensure that the information recorded in the Cadastro Único is always in accordance with the reality of the families. Social programs such as Auxílio Brasil, Benefício de Prestação Continuada (BPC), Tariff Social de Energia Elétrica (TSEE) and ID Jovem require that the registration is up to date so that families can receive the benefits.

Due to the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Citizenship has staggered the registration review process. This year, only families with registries that were last updated in 2016 or 2017 were invited to update data in the Cadastro Único. Families who last updated data in 2018 or 2019 will be convened in the coming years.
