The Ministry of Economy launched this Tuesday (8) the Female Entrepreneurship Strategy. The initiative includes the “Brasil Pra Elas” program, which invests in more credit from federal banks for women and in entrepreneurial education. The project encompasses consultancy services, such as training and qualification, for the national network of the Brazilian Support Service for Micro and Small Enterprises (Sebrae).
To implement the program, areas related to women and entrepreneurship were mobilized. The Ministries of Economy participate in the initiative; of Women, of the Family of Human Rights; and Citizenship, in addition to Sebrae and the Brazilian Agency for Industrial Development (ABDI).
Banco do Brasil, Caixa Econômica Federal and Banco da Amazônia (Basa) will offer special credit lines for micro and small companies. In addition, there will be entrepreneurial education support from Sebrae for women who are starting to undertake or wish to increase their own businesses. Banco do Nordeste (BNB) and Basa will operate in the microcredit segment.
To encourage more loans, resources from the Fund for the Guarantee of Micro and Small Enterprises (Fampe) will be used, which will guarantee 80% of the amount borrowed, offering assisted credit to companies that have women in their corporate structure, seeking to reach 100% of these enterprises.
The program has three main lines of action: the development of mechanisms and the business environment, entrepreneurial education and social transformation.
The strategy aims to expand access to information, credit and new technologies; encourage the development of technical and management skills, in addition to socio-emotional and relational issues, and support women who are beneficiaries of social programs, such as Auxílio Brasil.
