THE Ministry of Health he stated in a note this Saturday (18), that he has already started negotiations for the purchase of doses of the immunizing agent against the flu with the Butantan Institute. According to the statement, the action is normally the same as every other year.
The announcement came after the governor of São Paulo, João Doria, say this Friday (17), that the “federal government so far had not ordered the flu vaccines”, which, according to him, was done in November.
According to the Ministry of Health, in 2021, approximately 67.9 million doses were applied across the country, and 80 million were distributed to all states and the Federal District for the National Influenza Vaccination Campaign.
The immunizing agent ordered is recommended by World Health Organization (WHO) for the southern hemisphere and includes in its composition the Darwin variant of the H3N2 virus currently circulating in the country.
