“We had an important moment of hospitalizations, a very expressive growth, especially in the group of people who have not been vaccinated yet: 80% of hospitalized people did not complete their vaccination schedule, this is a major concern of the municipal secretary of Health”, he said. the secretary.

To try to contain the spread of the disease, the strategy is to increase the number of vaccinated. In the capital of Rio de Janeiro, 650,000 people are overdue for their booster dose. In addition, the secretary reinforces the need to adhere to preventive measures against contagion.

“It is still recommended to use a mask in a closed place in a mandatory way and, in open places, it is recommended to use it when you are with other people. Always wash your hands with alcohol gel,” Soranz recalled.
