Ministry of Infrastructure maintains Congonhas auction schedule for 2022

The Minister of Infrastructure, Marcelo Sampaio, reinforced during an event this Tuesday (10) in New York that the Congonhas Airport auction schedule is maintained. It is expected to occur in the second half of 2022. The information was confirmed by the CNN Brasil Business with the Ministry of Infrastructure (MInfra).

According to MInfra, the process of the seventh round of airport concessions is being analyzed by the Federal Audit Court (TCU). The call for tender is expected to be released in the second quarter of 2022.

“Thus, the Ministry of Infrastructure maintains the forecast that the auction will be held in the third quarter of this year, ensuring R$ 7.3 billion in private investments in 15 airports divided into three blocks.”

The first block, General Aviation, encompasses the airports of Campo de Marte (SP) and Jacarepaguá (RJ). The lot has R$ 560 million in planned investments, with an initial grant of R$ 138 million.

The second, North Block II, comprises the air terminals of Belém (PA) and Macapá (AP), and has R$ 875 million in planned investments with an initial grant of R$ 57 million.

And the third block is formed by the airports of Congonhas (SP), Campo Grande (MS), Corumbá (MS), Ponta Porã (MS), Santarém (PA), Marabá (PA), Carajás (PA), Altamira (PA) ), Uberlândia (MG), Uberaba (MG) and Montes Claros (MG). The planned investment is R$ 5.889 billion with an initial grant of R$ 255 million.

Introductions

Minister Marcelo Sampaio is in the United States accompanied by a Brazilian delegation in a series of events (called Road Show) this week to present the portfolio’s concession program, which includes 44 assets, totaling R$ 110 billion in private investments.

According to the ministry, the meetings take place with 30 different groups of investors, with more than US$ 2 trillion in assets, such as the manager GIP and the Singapore sovereign wealth fund CIP.

Among the highlights to be presented is the Congonhas Airport, as well as the Port of Santos.
